Procrastination?

Procrastination is a universal problem that affects people of all age groups and all backgrounds. It is a human problem that has affected everyone at some point in their lives. Since it negatively affects so many people, it can have really bad impacts such as poorer time management and a decrease in work quality. This especially affects young students and people who have jobs that do not require any physical labor. As a result, our target audience for this project will be young students  from the age of 13 to 17. However, before approaching this target audience research on procrastination and its causes and effects has to be conducted. Consequently, our group conducted research on the effects of procrastination, the causes, the age group that it affects the most, and methods to stop procrastination. From the research it can be concluded that the age group that is affected the most by this problem are people from the age of 14 to 29, thus we decided to focus on high school students. Aside from identifying the age group that is affected the most it was also crucial to identify the roots of this problem and the causes of this problem. This is due to the fact that, before someone tries to tackle a problem they must know its causes beforehand. As a result, we also spent time trying to figure out the causes of procrastination before trying to solve the problem, and interestingly perfectionism was one of the causes. Aside from perfectionism the other causes were lack of motivation, low self-confidence, fear of failure, lack of understanding, trouble concentrating, low energy levels, and poor organization skills. All of these causes have impacts on the person that is suffering from procrastination. These impacts are not meeting deadlines, stress, anxiety, and poor time management. The latter impact is the most common as procrastination is a problem that hinders people from using their time effectively.
